Inamona is a Hawaiian word referring to roasted and ground Kukui Nuts. It has been used for generations to add and bring out the flavors in traditional Hawaiian dishes, especially Poke. This 4 ounce bag will go a long way as just a small amount is used to flavor most dishes. To prolong freshness it is recommended to refrigerate after opening. This version contains only Kukui Nuts.
The Kukui tree (Aleurites Moluccana) was designated as the official state tree of Hawaii in 1959. The blossom of the Kukui is also the official Island flower of Moloka’i. The kukui tree is not native to Hawaii and actually originated in Polynesia. The Kukui is also called the Candlenut tree because the nut of the Kukui was used for candles by ancient Hawaiians.
